Amina Zakari, a national commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has clarified the rumoured relationship between her and President Muhammadu Buhari.





In an interview with BBC, Zakari clarified that she is neither Buhari’s cousin nor niece.





An oil field operated by Conoil at the weekend has exploded and was engulfed in flames at Koluama, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.





A group, which identified itself as the Koluama Seven Brothers (KSB), claimed responsibility for the explosion, which sources described as massive and deafening.

Fayose said Aisha Buhari will be insulting the sensibilities of Nigerians by asking them to reelect the same man she asked them to help her rescue from a cabal that hijacked his government.





Reno Omokri, former presidential aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has released an updated video in which transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi is seemingly mocking President Muhammadu Buhari.

Omokri further threatened to release more audio of Amaechi criticizing Buhari if the minister does not own up to the statement.





6. FG orders military to vacate Daily Trust premises





The federal government has ordered the immediate withdrawal of military men that invaded the Daily Trust office in Maiduguri yesterday.





It also ordered the issues between the military and the news outfit to be resolved through dialogue.





The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has agreed to participate and work with the Independent National Electoral Commission for the success of the 2019 Elections.





The officials of the Union and INEC reached this agreement in Abuja on Friday.





The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has refuted the allegation making the round that it got N150 million from presidency, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari was not the type that offers bribe.





The leadership of NANS distanced itself from the purported allegations by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
